Dum Ka Qeema - Smoked Ground Beef

Dum Ka Qeema Daam ka Qeema or Galawat ka qeema remind me of Eid. On every Eid Ammi cooked  Daam ka Qeema and to serve with Kachories. Garnishing with sliced onions, ginger, mint leaves, and lemon juice is just perfect to enjoy this dish. This is the easiest recipe and less effort and the result is so scrumptious. It's a perfect dish to make at any party, very easy to make and you can totally impress your guest with its delicious flavor. I usually marinate the meat day before the party and the next day cook it.  Every time I cook it I always get comments from friends and family and they asked for the recipe. So here I am sharing the authentic recipe of Daam ka Qeema or Galawat ka Qeema which Ammi is making for 30 plus years, so it is definitely a fail-proof recipe. Broccoli Cheddar Soup

Broccoli Cheddar Soup

A couple Decembers ago my family and I visited Hershey's park. One night we were tired and very cold. So we went to get some soup at one of the park's restaurants. I ordered the broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl. The soup was so delicious and indescribable. The seasoning was so perfect and superb. Don't get me started about the bread bowl. But it was so moist and paired along perfectly with the soup. Ever since then I've been thinking about it. After trying and experimenting with many recipes I've finally made the most perfect recipe. Which everyone enjoyed including my sister who absolutely hates to eat vegetables. Now on to the recipe.

Prep Time  5 minutes

Cook Time  25 minutes

Total Time 30 minutes

Total Servings 4-6

 Ingredients

  • 4 tbs butter
  • 1 small diced onion
  • 2 tbs minced garlic
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 cup of vegetable broth*
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream*
  • 1 cup milk*
  • 2 1/2 rough cut broccoli
  • 2 cup shredded carrots
  • Salt as per taste
  • Pepper as per taste
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • 1 cup cheese

Recipe

  1. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Once melted add in the onion and garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent and the garlic is golden brown.
  2.  Add in 1/3 cup of flour. Stir for about 3 mins. So the flour cooks.
  3. Next, add in 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, and 2 cups of your desired broth. Let it simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes.
  4. Once simmered add in the 2 1/2 cups of broccoli and 1 cup of carrots. Let it continue to simmer for another 15 minutes. Or until the broccoli and carrots are cooked. If desired slightly blend with a hand blender.
  5. Add a teaspoon of salt and pepper. Also, add a tablespoon of onion and garlic powder. Adjust the seasoning by taste.
  6. Turn off the stove and add the cheese. Serve in bread bowls if desired, and enjoy!
